Hearts fan buries team strip under Easter Road standPremium Article !

A DIE-HARD Hearts fan employed to demolish the east terrace at Easter Road has left a permanent reminder of her team beneath her rivals' noses – by burying a strip under the stand.

Lifelong Jambo Louise Burnett proudly posed for pictures as she buried a Hearts shirt and then posted them on the internet – to the chagrin of many Hibbies.

The 28-year-old demolition worker from Dalkeith was employed at Easter Road by what is understood to be her father's company, Dalkeith Demolition, when she buried the strip, along with photographs of Hearts' 2006 Scottish Cup win.

Ms Burnett, who comes from a family of Tynecastle season ticket holders, boasted at the time how much she had enjoyed destroying the old east terrace, describing the job as "brilliant".

Immer doch :cool Andererseits können wir uns ja auch keine Kracher leisten, von daher sind Spieler wie Gardyne ja nicht ganz so abwegig ;)
Laut den neuesten Gerüchten sind wir auch wieder an Rory McAllister interessiert... Aberdeen und Livingston ebenso. Allerdings hab ich gelesen, dass er einige disziplinarische Probleme in der Vergangenheit hatte und eher trainingsfaul sei. Beides Gründe dafür, dass man ihn damals bei dne Dons rausgeworfen hat und dass Butcher ihn in Inverness nicht oft hat spielen lassen.




Andy kann nun doch für Schottland spielen- dieses Mal ist die Entscheidung aber endgültig! :)

Driver 'thrilled' at decision

Hearts star Andrew Driver today admitted he is "thrilled" to be given the all-clear to play for Scotland.

The Tynecastle winger received the news he had been waiting for from FIFA before flying out on holiday this morning and he has now set his sights on helping Craig Levein's European Championship qualifying campaign.

FIFA's Executive Committee approved the amendment to the eligibility ruling in the agreement between the Four British Associations in Johannesburg, opening the door for Andrew to pull on the dark blue jersey.

Speaking to Hearts News, the 22-year-old said: "I am thrilled to finally get the all-clear to play for the country I have pledged allegiance to.

"Although I was disappointed when it turned out I didn't qualify through the original criteria, I never gave up hope.

Kyle unveiled at Tynecastle
New Hearts striker Kevin Kyle was unveiled at Tynecastle today, having last week agreed a two-year deal with Jim Jefferies' side following his departure from SPL rivals Kilmarnock.

The Scotland internationalist, who has also played for Sunderland and Coventry, will wear the No 9 jersey next season, when Hearts bid to improve on a sixth-placed finish in 2009/10.

Kyle said: "I had a lot of offers, including from Greece and Turkey, and the one from Greece was very lucrative. I discussed it with my family but, to be fair, ever since Jim Jefferies went to Hearts I was hoping he would buy me, and as soon as he phoned I dropped everything.

"My message to the Hearts fans is to forget about the season just finished and I will be trying my best to get Hearts back to where we should be in Scotland."

Hearts boss targets at least two new players – with no departures

HEARTS manager Jim Jefferies today revealed he wants at least two more new faces to join Darren Barr and Kevin Kyle at Tynecastle this summer.
Jefferies, who says he also wants to keep his current squad intact, has been working hard behind the scenes to further strengthen his squad but admitted that he had been thwarted on a couple of occasions already.

However, with the transfer window not due to close until the end of August, Jefferies is happy to wait for the right deal and said: "I would like to try and get another couple of players in, I have made inquiries about one or two others but we have not had any success with them.

THE £3.5 million Hearts are seeking for Andrew Driver would only be a down payment, as majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov continues discussions with his Chelsea counterpart Roman Abramovich over a loan agreement and potential £5m transfer.

The Edinburgh club are determined that the 22-year-old winger will not leave for anything below market value following an offer from Burnley plus inquiries from Chelsea, Wigan, Middlesbrough and FC Twente.
