Rangers will not change from Umbro to Nike at least until the end of their deal with JJB Sports. Alot of people do not realise this but Rangers deal is not directly with Umbro but with JJB Sports who have appointed Umbro to make all the kits and training gear. This is the same kind of deal Everton have as their deal is with JJB and not Umbro. Rangers sold the right to their kits to JJB for around £18 million I beleive so they get a set figure regardless of how many shirts they sell. This deal is watertight and has nothing to do with the Umbro/Nike tie up. These deals give JJB control over all Everton and Rangers club stores and exclusive rights to sell them and other club items in JJB stores in the UK. The 2005-06 shirt was not produced by Umbro and neither were the 2002-05 Diadora kits made by Diadora. These kits were made by Rangers as a way to earn more money of their kits bu sourcing the material and making the kits themselves to keep more from sales. The Diadora and Umbro logos on these shirts were only added at a cost of £1 million per season to Umbro/Diadora but the kits were not actually produced by them. Rangers did however pay Diadora and Umbro to produce the training and leisurewear ranges for those seasons.
